Amos 5:13-15 ESV

Therefore he who is prudent will keep silent in such a time, for it is an evil time. Seek good, and not evil, that you may live; and so the LORD, the God of hosts, will be with you, as you have said. Hate evil, and love good, and establish justice in the gate; it may be that the LORD, the God of hosts, will be gracious to the remnant of Joseph.

These verses concern Israel, but the principles apply to all. It describes that moral condition of all today These are unrighteous and love the ways of unrighteousness; when the judges judged righteously they are hated, those who speak uprightly they abhor. The poor they trampled into the dust and extort the distribution of food from them - the greed of today results in the same calamity. The Lord knows the transgressions and the greatness of the sins of the nations. For a Christian, greed should be abhorred, and love of the poor should abound.
