The Heart is rebellious. Nothing is closer to the truth – the fact that human hearts are rebellious against God. God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit speaks through Psalm 2 and us: “Why do the nations rage, And the people plot a vain thing? The kings of the earth set themselves, And the rulers take counsel together, Against the LORD and against His Anointed.

The heart can lead you astray, away from God’s precepts.
The heart is evil – this matches the prophecy of Jeremiah ("The heart is deceitful above all things, And desperately wicked; Who can know it? Jeremiah 17:9). However, since a Christians who is saved by the grace of God is born again – he or she has a new heart. The promise of God was established before Christ Jesus came: “I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will take the heart of stone out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh.” Ezekiel 36:26

The heart can be true – the word here about being in accord with what is true, that is the heart can be trustworthy if it subject to God. There is a command here – to draw near to God but to do so one needs to be holy – this is an act of the heart and mind. The heart needs to be true, not doubting or hypocritical etc.

Our heart is established by grace: the issue is the heart must firmly be charged with one doctrine – that which has been established by Christ – not strange doctrines established by men. That is the heart needs to be established rather than being like a seed blown about by the wind, every which way. Here it is by the sovereign favour of God toward his people, - the grace of God. In essence the heart is established by the gospel of the grace of God.
heart be established by grace, not with foods which have not profited those who have been occupied with them. Hebrews 13:9
