His master said to him, 'Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a little; I will set you over much. Enter into the joy of your master.'
The verse if from the parable of the talents, one of the final of Our Lord. The word talent here is not a gift or an ability but applies to all believers in Christ: we all have talents, in God's sight. We are all talented people - and we are to use them for God's glory.
We are not to neglect to show our talents, for doing so, shows God's grace working though each saved person. The verse here also shows that all Christians will have a day of reckoning - a day of judgement in which all believers must give and account of his or her actions (Rom. 14:12; Gal. 6:5; 2 Cor. 5:10). This is not for judgement of sin, because a believer is reckoned righteous through the blood of Jesus Christ (e.g. Phil. 3:9; Col. 1:20), but rather on how we have presented our selves as a living sacrifice to our Lord and Saviour (Romans 12:1) - how we carried out the work He set before us, whether serving at home, or in the workplace or in some grand position of government. Each will give an account. As the verse states here - even a little faith is rewarded with much.
