2 Timothy 4:1-4

I charge you therefore before God and the Lord Jesus Christ, who will judge the living and the dead at His appearing and His kingdom: Preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season. Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching.
For the time will come [and has come] they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables.

Paul warned the church that in the last days believers would no longer tolerate sound doctrine. Instead, the church would seek to have its ears "tickled," meaning the church will seek people to preach on subjects that affirm what they are doing or want to do; to give permission to do as they please, according to their own desires.

Congregations and denominations everywhere are no longer seeking Biblical education and the doctrines of our faith as Paul described in the Bible - they have been firmly rejected. They are now using an ever changing popular culture that tickles their ears; promulgated by social media, championed by world leaders and endorsed main stream media. Sadly, this has led to a church devoid of all Godly doctrine; we have instead a confused and ignorant church, far from God, disobedient in all aspects. Without Bible teaching, the church is vulnerable to false theology and harmful doctrine, which its current state attests to.
