Inasmuch then as the children have partaken of flesh and blood, He Himself likewise shared in the same, that through death He might destroy him who had the power of death, that is, the devil, and release those who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.
The writer of Hebrews emphasizes that by virtue of the Messiah’s death and Resurrection, and by virtue of the believer’s position of being in the Messiah and therefore “co-crucified” and “co-resurrected,” the believer has the key to victory. This is the basis of his defense on the satanic front.
