Jeremiah 31:35-37

Thus says the LORD, Who gives the sun for a light by day,
The ordinances of the moon and the stars for a light by night,
Who disturbs the sea,
And its waves roar (The LORD of hosts is His name): "If those ordinances depart From before Me, says the LORD,
Then the seed of Israel shall also cease From being a nation before Me forever."
Thus says the LORD: "If heaven above can be measured,
And the foundations of the earth searched out beneath,
I will also cast off all the seed of Israel For all that they have done, says the LORD.

History shows that empires rise and fall but Jews alone among peoples are eternal. All who oppose the Jew have fallen. The survival of the Jew as a distinct people is one of history’s great mysteries. Conquered, dispersed, persecuted and murdered, this people that contributes less than 0.2 percent of the world’s population endures. They move with, and circumnavigate empire after empire as each come and fall. These empires denied the Jew land ownership, political participation, and professions of their choosing. Death awaited those that did not convert to one religion or another or for just being a Jew. But their preservation as a distinct people amidst violent persecutions, though scattered among all nations for twenty one centuries, whereas all other peoples under such circumstances have become incorporated with the nations in which they have been dispersed, is a perpetual miracle.

If the sun, moon and stars could disappear, so could the Jews. But since the former is impossible, so is the later. The miracle of the Jew is as evident today as it was yesterday. As Jeremiah points out; this will always be so.
