He [God the Father] has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love [Jesus Christ]

There is a power of darkness - ruled by Satan, whose presence is not spoken of by the liberal church these days. He is the ruler of darkness and to this power of darkness the unsaved sinner belongs. And it is this darkness to which by nature humans are under complete power and due to this are also the children of wrath (Ephesians 2:1-3). It is by grace God the Father has save believers from the wrath coming to all who are within the power of darkness.
