Surely there is not a righteous man on earth who does good and never sins. (Ecclesiastes 7:20)

The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it? (Jeremiah 17:9)

These verses provide the status for every human being. We are in desperate need of salvation. Even the most good person, the one who has the kindest heart, has helped the most people and loves unselfishly, needs to be saved. Everyone has sinned, and the wages of sin is death. Salvation only comes from God because only God can renew the desperately wicked heart. Thus, sinners should repent and trust in God, so that through His Son, Jesus Christ, they will be saved (John 3:16; Romans 10:9).
