For behold, Your enemies make a tumult; And those who hate You have lifted up their head.
They have taken crafty counsel against Your people, And consulted together against Your sheltered ones.
They have said, "Come, and let us wipe the out [cut them off] from being a nation, That the name of Israel may be remembered no more!"

The response of the psalmist: Do not keep silent, O God! Do not hold Your peace, And do not be still, O God! 

It should not be surprising, although it fills all rational people with horror, the enemies of God want Israel to be eliminated. We weep alongside the Israelis and the other nationalities whose loved ones were murdered on 7 October 2023, as they mourn. Our hearts are troubled and full of sorrow. The images of the atrocities of torture, rape and slaughter disturb each of us deeply. We pray for the kidnapped, and their families; we seek from Jehovah His wisdom for the leaders of Israel. Satan’s grip on Israel’s enemies is apparent, but foretold some nearly 3 millennia ago.

Here in the time of David the godly remnant pray speaking of invading terrorists as "God’s enemies", and thus calling upon the Jehovah to deal with them. The object of these enemies is to cut Israel off from being a nation; to rid the earth of them. They remind the Lord of what He did with Israel’s former enemies and treat them likewise, so that Jehovah may become the Most High (God’s millennial Name) over all the earth. God still has this object in focus and Satan is determined to thwart it; but he will fail. Israel needs to put their faith and trust in Yeshua, their Messiah.
