Notes on the weather for SA

Current situation

A high pressure system centred over Tasmania extends a ridge over SA. The high and ridge will move eastwards on Sunday and a low pressure trough is expected to reach the far west of the state on Sunday. The trough will slip southeastwards early next week.

25 Thursday

Isolated showers about parts of the southern coastal districts, over the Nullarbor Plain and about the south of the pastoral districts. Possible isolated thunderstorms about the Flinders district and southern parts of the pastoral districts. East to southeasterly winds, tending northeasterly in the far west.

26 Friday

Isolated light showers near southern coasts. Isolated showers possible about the Flinders district and southern parts of the North East Pastoral district. Areas of morning fog about the Agricultural Areas and possible patchy frost in the South East districts. Maximum temperatures below average. East to southeasterly winds, tending northeasterly in the far west.

27 Saturday

Isolated light showers east of the ranges and near southern coasts. Isolated showers developing in the far west. Possible morning fog about the Agricultural Areas and possible patchy frost in the South East districts. Maximum temperatures below average. Northeast to southeast winds, tending east to northeasterly throughout the day.

28 Sunday

Morning fog patches about eastern districts. Isolated showers possible in most districts. Chance of a thunderstorm in the far southwest. Maximum temperatures below average. North to northeasterly winds, fresh at times.

29 Monday

Isolated showers possible in most districts. Chance of a thunderstorm in the far northeast. Maximum temperatures near average. Northerly winds, fresh at times, turning westerly in the far west.

Cumulative rainfall totals to the end of Monday: mostly less than 2 mm but local falls of 2-5 mm are possible. Isolated falls of 5-15 mm are possible about the West Coast and pastoral districts.
